Terms of Service(Nutzungsbedingungen)

1. Scope of Services & Mobile Practice

These Terms of Service apply to all mobile physiotherapy services provided by Katerina Smutna in Switzerland. Physiotherapy services are provided exclusively through home visits (mobile physiotherapy) at the location individually agreed with the patient. The registered business address serves as an administrative address only and is not a treatment location or walk-in practice.

2. Service Area & Travel Costs

Mobile physiotherapy services are primarily offered within the Saanenland region and surrounding areas, including the Canton of Bern and neighbouring regions, depending on availability. Appointments outside the regular service area may be arranged upon request and may be subject to additional travel costs. Any applicable travel fees will be communicated and agreed upon before the appointment.

3. Private Payment, Insurance and Billing

Katerina Smutna provides physiotherapy services as a private-pay provider (Privatpraxis). Direct billing to mandatory Swiss health insurance (Grundversicherung / KVG) is not available. The patient is responsible for payment of all services provided, regardless of whether reimbursement from an insurance provider is possible. Invoices are issued directly to the patient and must be paid within the payment period stated on the invoice.

Payment can be made:

  • by cash

  • via TWINT

  • by bank transfer.

Patients wishing to request reimbursement from supplementary insurance (Zusatzversicherung / VVG) are responsible for verifying coverage with their insurance provider before treatment. Reimbursement decisions are made solely by the insurance provider and cannot be guaranteed by the therapist.

4. Appointment Booking, Cancellation and No-Shows

Appointments are arranged individually by phone, email, or other agreed communication channels. Cancellations or requests to reschedule must be communicated at least 24 hours before the

scheduled appointment on business days. Appointments cancelled less than 24 hours in advance, as well as missed appointments where the patient is unavailable at the agreed location and time, may be charged in full, including applicable travel costs. Missed appointment fees are generally not covered by insurance and remain payable by the patient. Exceptions may apply in cases of emergencies, illness, or circumstances beyond reasonable control.

5. Patient Responsibilities and Treatment Environment

Patients are required to provide accurate and complete information regarding their health condition, medical history, allergies, symptoms, and any relevant circumstances affecting

treatment. For home visits, patients must provide a safe, clean, and suitable environment for physiotherapy treatment. The patient is responsible for ensuring reasonable access to the treatment location, including any necessary information regarding parking, building access, stairs, or other conditions that may affect the visit. Patients must inform the therapist in advance about any circumstances that may affect safe treatment, including the presence of pets or other relevant conditions.

6. Treatment and Professional Responsibility

Physiotherapy services are provided with professional care and according to applicable professional standards in Switzerland.However, specific treatment outcomes cannot be guaranteed, as individual results depend on various factors, including the patient’s condition, cooperation, and adherence to recommendations.

7. Refusal or Discontinuation of Treatment

Katerina Smutna reserves the right to refuse or discontinue treatment if:

  • treatment is not medically appropriate;

  • the treatment environment is unsafe or unsuitable;

  • the patient does not provide necessary health information;

  • agreed payment obligations are not fulfilled;

  • professional or ethical reasons prevent continuation of treatment.

8. Minors

For patients under 18 years of age, consent from a parent or legal guardian is required before treatment unless otherwise provided by law.

9. Applicable Law

These Terms of Service are governed by Swiss law. Any disputes shall be handled according to the applicable provisions of Swiss law.
